Hi everyone!
Sorry for the lack of updates in September. Was feeling slightly unmotivated by the market and there wasn’t any topic inspired by the lacklustre market performance. Hopefully we will get spurts of topic ideas and we can continue sharing our thoughts here. 🙂
And so September is over now, and that means 75% of 2020 is now over. We only have 3 more months to hit whatever goals we have set for ourselves this year.
While everyone else is doing a monthly portfolio update, we thought it is more meaningful to document what we have done this month towards our financial goals.
Portfolio Transactions
Mr Budget
Position Added: Adobe, Syfe
Take Profit: N/A
Mrs Budget
Position Added: Amazon, SE, Syfe
Take Profit: N/A
For September, Mr Budget added Adobe into his portfolio, while Mrs Budget added both Amazon and SE into her portfolio. While all these counters are still down at the moment, we believe that in the long term the prices should show a slow and steady upwards climb.
We also continued our monthly DCA into our roboadvisor Syfe.
Both the Singapore and US market showed sideways market movement due to market uncertainties and hence the performance has been lacklustre as compared to the previous few months.
We expect slightly more market movement in the Singapore equity market this month and continued uncertainties in the US market at least until end November.
Here’s a look at Mr Budget’s latest portfolio as tracked by Stocks Cafe, sorted by percentage holdings.

Net Worth Updates
For our net worth this month, Mr Budget registered a decline in net worth while Mrs Budget saw a continued increase in her net worth. The decline in Mr Budget’s net worth is in accordance to the dip in the US equity market, as well as the cost paid to renovate his Malaysia condo.
Our combined net worth is now at S$790,000, including CPF but excluding our property and mortgage. This is up from S$778,000 last month, a change of +S$12,000. We should be able to reach our short term 2021 goal of having a S$800,000 joint net worth.

Stay safe everyone, and happy hunting! We’d be happy to also hear your recent purchases too so that we can keep an eye on them too.
We will also be publishing an article on our quick thoughts on the current state of economy over the next 1 or 2 weeks. 🙂
